As the end of the year approaches, we begin to think of the days that have passed. We think about the good moments, the bad moments, the sad moments, and the happy moments. Most of the time, hopefully, the good outweighs the bad. But it is a good time for reflection.
Questions I have been asking myself lately are, have I been using my time wisely? Going forward, how can I better utilize my time so that I don't feel like I'm wasting so much of it? Being unemployed, it is easy to fall into a sort of laziness - I'm looking for jobs of course, working on my jewelry (not as much as I would like to though), and applying for freelance jobs. So I'm not frittering away my time, but I feel I could be more productive. My biggest achilles heel is marketing myself and though I don't usually set New Year's resolutions, I am going to this New Years. My resolution? Get out there and promote and market my businesses. Learn everything I can about marketing, promotion, SEO, and networking. I'm good at what I do, now I just have to let everyone else know too!
During your reflections for the past year, what is the main question or questions you've been asking yourself? How have you been answering them?
I look forward to reading your thoughts! Have a great New Year's celebration everyone!!

"Just for Today"
A small, gentle reminder for what it's really all about:
Just for Today
Yesterday I met a stranger...
Today this stranger is my friend.
Had I not taken the time to say hello,
or return a smile,
or shake a hand,
or listen,
I would not have known this person.

You Can Now Hire Me As Your Administrative Professional!
In addition to hiring me as your jeweler, you can also hire me as your administrative assistant! I have started a new venture where I can utilize my 20 years of administrative experience by contracting out my services. I am registered with Elance - so, to view my profile you can click on the box to your right, or you can head over to my new website, www.kirstenlew.com.
In this day and age, I'd rather be able to depend on myself for my financial well-being. If I can support myself through my jewelry and now as a freelance administrative professional, I will be ever so happy!!!
What an exciting time this is - scary, but exciting! Will keep you posted with how it all goes!

December First Friday Art Walk
This past Friday was my first participation in the First Friday Art Walks, and it went quite well. I offered wine, cheese, and cookies which were enjoyed by those who stopped by. Here are some photos of the table I set up showcasing my work - the light is not fantastic, but you'll get the gist ;-)
